Corporate Communication Policy

Abstract

Effective Corporate communication is a foundation pillar for establishing and sustaining relations with its stakeholders. The provisions of this policy, therefore, provide a framework for managing the communication function at ORPP. The policy acknowledges that communication strategies and activities are key determinants for strategically locating the ORPP to its varied stakeholders. The policy review has been aligned with the changing legal and operational landscape as well as learning experiences gained in the course of its implementation.

Additionally, effective communication provides all stakeholders with a clear understanding of the Office’s responsibilities and obligations. This policy establishes general rules and principles for ORPP in its communication with employees and external stakeholders. It sets out a policy blueprint that seeks to clearly articulate the scope, goals, objectives, and standard guiding principles for effective communication to achieve the ORPP mandate.

The policy has been developed and subsequently reviewed as a guide for: i. Having in place correct, relevant, clear, timely, and proactive communication to both internal and external stakeholders. ii. Establishing norms and standards for communication within ORPP. iii. Informing the development of other communication complementary policies, strategies, and guidelines. iv. A reference tool for sensitization.
